Loop is an every day carry tool designed to have the most convenient tools for every day tasks while also being simple and beautiful. Laser cut from a single piece of titanium, its unibody design uses the material properties of titanium to create a living hinge that won't wear out . It features a bottle opener, box opener, screw driver, carabiner, and acts as a great fidget toy.
I went through many iterations of the concept. I experimented with various tool combinations and form factors to determine the right amount of functionality and size. I first started with 3D printing, but I then moved to laser cutting. This took a lot of trial and error to determine the correct material and spring thickness. I started with steel but the spring deformed too easily. I found that titanium had the right strength to flex ratio. It then took multiple iterations to get the correct spring tension from titanium.

The final prototype optimized material thickness and footprint to get the lowest manufacturing cost while still maintaining the same amount of functionality. I also experimented with various DIY anodizing methods to get three distinct colorways.
